The New Beginnings Assessment Service provides both an objective perspective and tools to help a congregation visualize and set into motion a new vision for its future. New Beginnings helps the leaders of churches needing this kind of assistance get on the same page regarding the need for change. A New Beginnings consultant will make an on-site visit and then generate a thorough report detailing the church’s current condition, including property and financial resources, community and congregational demographics, appetite for change and programmatic strengths.

The consultant trains church leaders to interpret the report with the guiding question, “What is God calling our congregation to be and do in THIS time and place?” The trained leaders then host small group meetings for the purpose of involving a large number of church participants in discernment for the church’s future.

The New Beginnings Assessment Service works because although it is facilitated by objective consultants, it is not dependent on that external perspective. The church ultimately reviews the data, hosts the conversation and makes its own decision for the future. A congregation’s regional partner is also essential to the process, serving as coach and providing encouragement along the way.
